AC Milan managing director Adriano Galliani has laughed off reports coach Carlo Ancelotti could be set to replace under-fire Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster.
Reports in Spain suggest that sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic is ready to end Schuster's spell in charge of the Spanish giants despite giving him a vote of confidence on Monday and that they are lining up Ancelotti as a replacement.
Madrid's first-choice is reported to be Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez, but the Premier League leaders are unlikely to let the Spaniard leave.
Galliani, though, insists Ancelotti is going nowhere either.
"Real are after Ancelotti?" he said. "I talked about it this very night with Mijatovic, because both him and president (Ramon) Calderon are friends.
"We can meet up as friends, but on this front there is nothing true.
"Ancelotti, like (Andriy) Shevchenko, is tied to Milan and Real Madrid have never asked me for him."
Earlier this week, Galliani was forced to deny rumours that Shevchenko was on his way to the Bernabeu to replace injured forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy who will be sidelined for the rest of the season.
According to Madrid-based sports daily Marca, the Spanish champions want Ancelotti in place as soon as Saturday's match against Recreativo Huelva or Tuesday's Champions League tie against BATE Borisov.
